When we go on vacation there are just some things that need to go with us on every trip. Many of the things we take have no sentimental value, but there are times that we need to take valuable items on trips with us. How do you secure your property at a hotel?
We are going to give you some information that will be useful when youre traveling, and your want to secure your property.
* If at all possible never leave anything of value in your hotel room. Never leave money, checks, credit cards, car keys or valuables in the room, always take them with you. By doing this you will be assured that non of it will be missing when you return.
* Keep a daily check of your belongings, having a list and checking it daily will help ensure that you have not lost anything or that anything was taken.
* Place extra cash, expensive jewelry or other valuables in the hotel/motel safe. All hotels and motels typically have safes available at the front desk, and some hotel rooms even have safes in them, but you will need to speak with the front desk if you want to use them.
* Use the door viewer to identify anyone requesting entry, and only open the door if you are certain the person has a legitimate reason to enter your room, or you know who they are. When it is questionable ask for the persons name and call the front desk of the motel/hotel.
* When needed unpack and place belongings in the closet and dresser, in an arrangement that you will identify if it has changed. We recommend that in many cases that you leave your items in your bag and take only items that are needed out.
* Use the electrical appliances provided by the hotel first, if they are not available and you have your own, be sure to pack them back in your bag when you are finished with them, and lock your luggage. Suitcases should always be locked so they cannot be used to carry your property out of your room.
* If you return to your room and you have notice that items are missing, report them immediately to hotel/motel management, security and to the police.
* When you notice suspicious movement in the hotel/motel you should also report that immediately to management.
By following the tips above you are sure to have a safer hotel stay for your personal belongings. Use the hotel resources that are available after all that is what you are paying for and you should be able to get your moneys worth.
